BlueCross BlueShield Of Florida Rolls Out Affordable Individual Coverage
BlueCross BlueShield Of Florida has just started an ad campaign to tout its new individual health coverage. The new health insurance initiative is an extension of the BlueOptions program, and features premiums that are more affordable than typical health insurance products.
Like many health insurance plans in the BlueCross BlueShield family, the BlueOptions for individuals feature comprehensive coverage and flexible deductibles. Some of the plans are compatible with Health Savings Accounts.
Interestingly, the campaign presents the new insurance line by suggesting the cost of monthly premiums as being “like your cable TV bill.”
Instead of being a pricey option for people who don’t have employer coverage, individual health insurance is presented as just another affordable monthly expense.
Not exactly an earth-shattering revelation… but it’s another signpost on the slow road to widespread individual health coverage.
