What is Medigap?
Because Medicare simply can not be relied on to cover all of your healthcare
expenses, privately owned insurance companies offer health plans known as 'Medigap'
or Medicare Supplemental policies to fill in the various coverage gaps that
Federal Medicare has left behind.
On the whole, Medigap polices provide coverage for most, though not all, of
Medicare's coinsurance fees and deductibles. Medicare Supplement plans may
also offer you benefits for healthcare services that aren't typically covered
by Medicare. |
