Are Seniors the Only Ones Who Need Long Term Care?
The biggest myth about Long Term Care Insurance plans?
That they are only for senior citizens. Seniors aren't the only ones who might
need to take advantage of one kind of long term care or another. Just because
you’re young now, that doesn’t mean that you won’t need long
term care services at an earlier point in your life.
In fact, 40% of those of us who are currently using long term care services
are between 18 and 64. Contrary to popular opinion, if you’re lucky,
long term care will be something you’ll only need in order to manage
a few months or a couple of years of your chronic health needs later in life.
Here are just a few reasons you could end up needing long term care at a young
age:
- Having a Sporting or Automobile Accident
- Having a Stroke
- The onset of MS
- To manage Cancer
- To manage the after effects of an Aneurysm or Brain Tumor.
If you’re lucky, you may never have to worry about Long Term Care Insurance
at all. But, if you're seriously injured by an accident or are diagnosed with
a chronic degenerating illness (Parkinson’s, Alzheimer's, etc.), you
could have to worry about Long Term Care for the rest of your life. |
